Paula Roberts

EVM's conductor, Paula Roberts, is also currently the director of EKOSingers, a 40 member adult show choir. She is on the Artists In Residence Roster for the Alberta Foundation for the Arts offering her popular week long elementary school residency program, "The Canadian Music Express" featuring sessions in Canadian and multicultural music.

Ms. Roberts is an instructor for the Grant MacEwan Summer Vocal Workshop, and has taught private voice lessons at the Community College. Any "spare time" she gets is spent writing and arranging choral music for NorthWind Music Publishing, her own company founded in 1997 with the late jazz pianist, Bill Emes. She has directed numerous Edmonton choirs including the Grant MacEwan Outreach Jazz Choir for teens; the Northgate Lions Choralaires (a senior adult choir), and the children's program for Edmonton Musical Theatre.

Paula is a graduate of Indiana University (BME-choral), was a conducting apprentice with Michel Gervais, founder of Pro Coro, for a season, and has studied with vocal jazz arranger, Phil Mattson. She is also a past member of the Alberta Choral Federation Board of Directors.
